TEAM TO END AIDS
TEAM TO END AIDS or “T2” is an endurance event training program benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). Since 1998, APLA’s programs have been training people of all fitness levels to complete marathons, half-marathons, trail runs, obstacle races and triathlons. In that time, T2 participants have raised over $20 million for people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County while helping APLA raise awareness about the disease and the work that is being done to end it.
APLA has been in existence for over 30 years and operates with the following mission: AIDS Project Los Angeles is dedicated to: improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease; reducing the incidence of HIV infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy.
In 2013, APLA Health & Wellness became a federally qualified health center and in 2014 opened its first state-of-the-art facility in South Los Angeles, that provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services to low-income LGBT people regardless of HIV status.
